Privacy policy

We respect your privacy. This page explains what we collect when you visit this site, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and how you can control it.

1. What we collect

a. Technical data (always collected)

• IP address
• Country and city, derived from that IP address
• The internet provider or organisation behind the IP address, and whether it looks like a server or proxy, which is how we tell real visitors from automated traffic
• Browser type and version, operating system and device model, derived from the User-Agent string
• Browser language and screen resolution
• The page you arrived from (referrer)
• Which pages you viewed, and in what order
• Usage measures: scroll depth, time on page, and whether you started or submitted a form
• Device type (mobile, desktop or tablet)
• Campaign parameters (UTM, ref) if you arrived through a marketing link or a partner code. These are stored in your own browser (localStorage) for up to 90 days and attached to an enquiry so we know where it came from.

b. Identifiers we create in your browser

We generate two random identifiers so that we can tell which visits belong to the same person, instead of counting every page load as a new one. They contain no name, phone number or any identifying detail, and they are not shared with anyone:

• sbs_sid, a session identifier in sessionStorage, deleted automatically when you close the tab
• sbs_visitor_hash, a longer-lived anonymous identifier in localStorage, which stays until you remove it. Use the button in section 6, or clear your browser storage

c. Data you give us

If you submit the enquiry form: your name, phone number, and optionally your email, what your business does, and your message. Nothing on the form is required except your name and phone number.

2. How we use it

• To reply to an enquiry you sent us
• To find faults and improve the site
• To block intrusion attempts, spam and malicious access
• To understand where our clients come from (marketing analytics)

We do not sell personal data to anyone.

3. Third parties

• Google Analytics: analytics, and only if you accepted cookies
• ip-api.com: an external service that returns country, city, provider or organisation and a server/proxy classification for an IP address
• SBS Tech CRM (crm.sbstech.co.il): our client-management system, and only if you submitted the form
• Cloudflare: CDN and security layer, where enabled
• When you run one of our site-checking tools, our server fetches the address you typed in order to analyse it and read the business details it publishes. We send that site no information about you.

4. Where your data goes

SBS Tech operates from Israel, and the site and its database are hosted there. If you are contacting us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the Gulf or anywhere else, your data is transferred to and processed in Israel. Israel has been recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection.

5. Cookies

This site uses cookies and local storage in the following cases:

• Essential: remembering your cookie choice
• Analytics (Google Analytics): only if you accepted

You can withdraw consent at any time: clear your browser's local storage and reload the page, and the banner will appear again for you to choose.

6. Retention

Visit records, tool checks, enquiries and WhatsApp clicks are kept for up to 36 months and then deleted automatically by a daily job. A cached IP record is deleted as soon as no visit refers to it any more. Lead details submitted through the form are also held in our CRM for as long as there is an active business relationship.

As for the identifiers in your browser: the session identifier is deleted when you close the tab; the longer-lived visitor identifier stays until you remove it, using the button below or your browser settings.

7. Opt out of the visitor identifier

You can ask us not to create or use the long-lived visitor identifier. The request is stored in this browser, any existing identifier is deleted immediately, and visits continue to be recorded anonymously only, with no link from one visit to the next.

This preference is stored in this browser only. If you clear local storage or use another browser you will need to choose again. We also respect your browser's Do Not Track setting if you have enabled it.

8. Your rights

Under Israel's Privacy Protection Law, and under the GDPR where it applies to you, you have the right to:

• access the data we hold about you
• correct or update anything inaccurate
• request deletion of your data
• request that your data be transferred to someone else
• object to processing, and withdraw consent you previously gave

9. Security

The site runs behind nine layers of protection: HTTPS, a content security policy, a honeypot field, rate limiting, geographic filtering, bot filtering and more. No system is completely secure. If we suspect a breach affecting you, we will tell you within 72 hours.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date it was last changed appears at the top of this page.
